Bridges

I never knew I liked bridges. You’ve got the BIG bridges in New York or London, ya know? The big dog bridges. But you ever just drive across a bridge and think “damn, what a feat of engineering!!”

You realize that hundreds or thousands of years ago, you’d be exploring and see a canyon or a river and be like “well, I guess our expedition comes to an end. We can no longer travel any further.” Until Mr. Bridge came along and shouted “hey! Traveler, we can know cross that river! Onward Ho!” 

Crazy! Bridges are sick. I’ve come to really enjoy a nice bridge. Need to cross a body of water? Build a bridge!

You know what else is sick? Phoebe Bridgers. She released her 3 full length, Lost Weekend… last weekend. Check it out. 

We played the final Brick show last week. I won’t talk about Brick 3 weeks in a row, but I will try to include a video. Enjoy.

MERCH

I put up some sale stuff on our store. I don’t know. Poke around. I’m sure you can find some deals. There’s not a lot of inventory left in some stuff. Trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff so we can get some new merch going this fall. Please consider spending your hard earned money on OUR MERCH. A bridge from you to us… so to speak. 

MOVIES

The End of Oak Street - solid. Hi concept sci-fi. Feels like a movie that a studio woulda dumped onto streaming a few years ago but they held their course and got a theatrical release. Had the juice for a little more than I’m speculating got zapped by Warner Brothers. Maybe there was a weird more mean cut left at home. Had fun. Def recommend. Very excited about David Robert Mitchell (It Follows and Under The Silver Lake both good). There’s a nice shot of a small wooden bridge in the movie. 

TELEVISION

I’m going to watch Lanterns. Damon Lindelof is one of my top 5 fav show runners, so I have massive faith in this. Heard good things. You should watch Rebel Ridge on Netflix if you wanna see John Stewart before he’s a green lantern. And obviously, Friday Night Lights if you wanna see Hal Jordan before he had the ring. A nice bridge between their previous roles and their current situation.

MUSIC

I’m on a Phoebe BRIDGE(rs) kick lately. Really digging her new album. The hard cut on the final song got me to rewind and check it out twice. 

Very stoked on Barbarians this weekend. Probably my most hyped album of the year.

Oh, let’s talk about the band for a sec. Guitars and Bass are done on 3 songs. Recording vocals tonight (Monday). I might drop a song in here one of these days. You’ll have to wait and see.
