Happy Easter? It’s over so hopefully we’ve all packed up our Easter eggs and threw them away or back into garage storage.

How’s everyone doing these days? Weird year, this 2026. Hope you are crushing it. That’s amore. 

I’m trying to be less online. Feel like the more online we are, the more volatile we become. Twitter doom scrolling. Upset about celebrities. Mad at roster construction 5 games into the Padres season. I’m trying to take a deep breathe and get off the apps. Not like fully off the apps, but just not on them all the time. Deleted a bunch the other day and it feels good to cleanse the system. We’ll see how it goes. One app I have been spending more time with though… great news… The New York Times games app. I’ve been crushing Wordle and Connections and NYT Crossword Puzzle. They offered a $17 per year discount to me and I snagged it a couple weeks ago. Highly recommend. I’m not good at the puzzles but I’ve enjoyed pushing my brain a little bit. Crossword puzzles are so stupid cause you start to remember clues and which words they like to use. Still can’t do the later week puzzles without Kylee’s help though. I’ll get there. I bet Jon Daker was good at crosswords.

Band stuff. 5 years ago this month, Funeral Psalms was released. I tag Solid State every time we post something about Funeral Psalms but they must have us blocked or something. No engagement. I picked up a ton of merch late last week. Tanks. Shirts. Windbreakers. More shirts. I hope you like having 5 undertaking shirts cause you gotta buy another one. Every one is buying multiple. Jon Daker bought one. The windbreakers are really nice quality, by the way. Real happy with them. Oh, yea, we finally have tank tops again. First time 5 years. It’s the big ol’ reaper on the back. Solid design. 

We tracked 3 more demos on Saturday bringing our Vox/demos to 10 songs. That’s an album if anyone is keeping track at home. We need to write a couple more songs. And then track vocals on those and then we can pick which ones are our favorites to release on an album. I’ll send the demos to every label we have connections to. No one will reply, but it’s the effort that counts, right? The songs are really cool. Different in some ways. The same in some ways. I really really want to show you guys, but just be patient (yo, that’s a weird word! shouldn’t it be pasient? Pascient? Weird).

Shows this weekend. Meadows is coming into town. It’s like Christmas. “I AM A DEAD MAN WALKING!” DNR. You get it cause you listened to their new song. Whittier and Vista. We have two local shows in May. Then we’re going out of town in June. Saying less about it cause it’s not 100 p 100 p but it’s like… 99%. June 12. Book it. 

MOVIES - what are you guys watching? Respond to this with some suggestions. I took my kids to the Mario Brother Galaxy Movie last week. It was so terrible, yet it was also the best. I can’t explain it. It’s like they tried to make the movie as nonsensical as they could only to squeeze as many game references as possible into the movie. Seeing Yoshi on screen was cool. Love me some Bowser Jr. Was missing some of the charm from the first one. Terrible movie, great time. My kids loved it

Johnny sent a video game review but I’m gonna save that for next week. Thanks Johnny. 

Music - I’m mixed on most Barbarians of California singles, but the newest one “Vanilla Latte” rips. Made me go back and listen to all their singles and I kinda love this band. Converge announced a second album for 2026. So jealous. Would love to have enough material to rip out two albums in one year.
